Product Description

Genuine 100% South African Hoodia-Ex®

Our Hoodia comes straight from the Kalahari Desert and is licensed by the Western Cape Conservation Authority of South Africa and is certified to be 100% Authentic.

Warning: Be sure you're buying genuine 100% Hoodia Gordonii imported directly from South Africa. Unfortunately since Hoodia has now become extremely popular and is quite costly, over 50% of companies are using cheaper and less potent (usually useless) strains from China and Mexico. Recently, some manufacturer's have even been caught putting miscellaneous herbs in their products and trying to pass them off as real South African Hoodia Gordonii to make a quick buck. Our Hoodia-Ex is the #1 selling Hoodia Formula on the market and is the only product to contain Bioperine® (which has 5 patents and increases absorption by 200%). We have also included pharmaceutical grade Cambogia Extract, Gymnema Sylvestre, and Green Tea to further enhance effectiveness. Our customers like our product so much that we have a 96% re-order rate. If you have any questions about our product or would like more information on what to look for in a Hoodia supplement please call us toll free in the US at 866-462-9522.

Exclusively with patented

- Bioperine® doubles the absorption levels of virtually all vitamins, herbs, and minerals. Therefore, 400mg (1 capsule) of our South African Hoodia with the addition of Bioperine® is equivalent to taking 800mg (see below for more information on Bioperine®).

Our formula also includes the highest quality and most expensive forms of: Garcinia Cambogia Extract, Gymnema Sylvestre Extract, and Green Tea Extract.

GMP logo

Our South African Hoodia-Ex® has received 5 out of 5 stars (hoodia gordoniihoodia pills) on Yahoo's customer rating system (independent 3rd party ratings by our actual customers) and contains the highest levels of the active ingredient (P57). We import Hoodia Gordonii directly from South Africa and our product is formulated in an FDA and GMP certified lab. All our products (including Hoodia-Ex®) are analyzed by an independent (3rd party) facility to insure that you the customer are receiving the highest quality supplements available.

Note (please read):  Each bottle of Hoodia-Ex contains 90 - 700mg capsules (not 60 capsules like our competitors) which equals a total of  63,000mg per bottle. When you factor in the effects of patented Bioperine® (which doubles the absorption of the all active ingredients) each bottles yields approximately 120,000mg. Many customers ask us why our product is 50-60% less than our competitors. Well it has absolutely nothing to do with a lack of quality control or cheap ingredients. On the contrary we only use the finest most expensive ingredients imported directly from South Africa with approval from the South African government (see below). The reason we sell our hoodia formula for so much less is simple. Our philosophy is to sell the best product at a reasonable price to our customers and since we have a 96% re-order rate we will make our money in volume. We would much rather have thousands of happy repeat customers rather than make a quick buck on a one-time 'high profit' sale. We believe this is a win win deal for both us and our customers, and ensures our companies future success.

About C.I.T.I.E.S. Certificates

The South African government has strictly regulated the exportation of hoodia to the rest of the world. A CITIES certificate is required to legally export hoodia gordonii from South Africa . CITIES is an international agreement between countries. Its mission is to protect and regulate international trade of wild animals and plants. hoodia gordonii is one of those plants protected by CITIES.

Be careful, because many of the documents being presented with hoodia products are not real. This fact includes many of the so-called hoodia products sold in the large health store chains touting a CITIES certification. These documents are issued in South Africa and do not assure the quality or purity of the hoodia, especially by the time it is bottled and in the market place. That is why we only recommend the products that also accompany and independent lab report verifying

“Imagine this: an organic pill [Hoodia] that kills the appetite and attacks obesity. It has no known side effects and contains a molecule that fools your brain into believing you are full.”

Hoodia History -

Hoodia gordonii (pronounced HOO-dee-ah) is also called hoodia, xhooba, khoba, Ghaap, hoodia cactus, and South African desert cactus hoodia is a cactus like plant that's causing a stir for its ability to suppress appetite and promote weight loss with no side effects. CBS 60 Minutes, NBC, ABC, BBC and numerous other broadcasters have done stories on hoodia. Hoodia is sold in capsule, liquid extract, spray, patch or tea form in health food stores and on the Internet.

Hoodia gordonii can be found in the semi-deserts of South Africa . It grows in clumps of green upright stems and is actually a succulent, not a cactus. It takes about 5 years before hoodia's pale purple flowers appear and the cactus can be harvested. Although there are 20 types of hoodia, only the hoodia gordonii variety is believed to contain the natural appetite suppressant.

Although hoodia was "discovered" relatively recently, the San Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert have been eating it for a very long time. The Bushmen, who live off the land, would cut off part of the hoodia stem and eat it to ward off hunger and thirst during nomadic hunting trips. They also used hoodia for severe abdominal cramps, hemorrhoids, tuberculosis, indigestion, hypertension and diabetes.

How Hoodia works -

Much of the buzz about hoodia started after 60 minutes correspondent Leslie Stahl and crew traveled to Africa to try hoodia. They hired a local Bushman to go with them into the desert and track down some hoodia. Stahl ate it and said she lost the desire to eat or drink the entire day. She also didn't experience any immediate side effects, such as indigestion or heart palpitations. Stahl concluded, "I'd have to say it did work."

The chemical constituents in hoodia works within the satiety center by releasing a chemical compound similar to glucose, but is up to 100,000 times more powerful. The hypothalamus receives this signal as an indication that enough food has been consumed and this in turn stunts the appetite. This pure organic hoodia gordinii contains a molecule that, in effect, fools the brain into believing you are full, and can even stop the brain from thinking about food.

The Science behind Hoodia Gordonii -

Scientists at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), South Africa 's national laboratory, began studying hoodia and the initial results were promising -- lab animals lost weight after taking hoodia. Later, the South African scientists, working in conjunction with a British company named Phytopharm, isolated the active ingredient in hoodia, a steroidal glycoside, which they named P57. Phytopharm has spent more than $20 million on hoodia research. The company completed a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study in overweight, but otherwise healthy volunteers using the P57 extract from hoodia gordonii. The participants were split into two groups, one received the P57 and the other received a placebo. Each group was told to continue their normal diet and exercise. The results of the study were as follows:

When comparing the hoodia group to the Placebo group, the hoodia group had a statistically significant reduction in caloric intake, and a statistically significant reduction in body fat with no adverse side effects reported. On average the hoodia group ate about 1,000 calories a day less than those in the control group. These are very impressive results when you consider that the average American man consumes about 2,600 calories a day; a woman about 1,900.

In animal studies, hoodia was proven to reduce caloric intake by 30 to 50 percent. Researchers at Brown University Medical School performed studies in 2004. In these studies "Zucker Rats" were fed hoodia. Zucker Rats are special rats that are bred to be obese and diabetic. Amazingly Zucker Rats that were fed hoodia lost weight and even saw some reversal of their diabetes.

How much time does it take for Hoodia Gordonii to have an effect?

A clinical trial conducted demonstrated that daily administration of Hoodia Gordonii extract caused a statistically significant decrease in daily calorie intake.  And by the 15th day (2 weeks into the study) the calorie intake of the test subjects had decreased by approximately 1000 kcal per day.

Other Key ingredients:

Garcinia CambogiaGarcinia Cambogia (60% hydroxycitric acids HCA) - Garcinia cambogia, also known as malabar tamarind and brindle berry, is a relatively small purple fruit that contains a chemical compound called Hydroxycitric acid (HCA). HCA is much like a derivative of the same citric acid that can be found in many other citric fruits whose chemical make up is only slightly different. Studies indicate that HCA may assist in weight loss because of its ability to regulate metabolism. HCA (hydroxycitric acids) appears to block the conversion of sugars and starches into fats, that this, HCA is believed to help inhibit fat production. HCA (hydroxycitric acids) may suppress appetite by raising levels of certain brain chemicals such as serotonin, a key stimulator of appetite.

Gymnema SylvestreGymnema Sylvestre (25% gymnemic acids) - A vigorous climbing vine, Gymnema (also known as Gymnema Sylvestre) is native to the jungles and meadows of southern India. Its leaves are used medicinally and when chewed directly appear to interfere with ability to taste sweet foods. For this reason the herb is known in Hindi as gurmar, or "sugar destroyer". First, the chemical compounds found in gymena sylvestre appear to lower the amount of sugar processed by the stomach. Finally, it has been shown that chewing on the leaves of gymnema sylvestre numbs a person's taste for sweets whereby decreasing their desire to eat foods containing high amounts of sugar.

macha green tea

Green Tea Extract (95% polyphenols) -

In a study reported on in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, it was found that green tea extract resulted in a significant increase in energy expenditure (a measure of metabolism), plus also had a significant effect on fat oxidation. While some of the effects were originally theorized to be due to the caffeine content of green tea, the researchers discovered that the tea actually has properties that go beyond those that would be explained by the caffeine. The same amount of caffeine as was in the green tea, administered alone, failed to change energy expenditure in other studies. This led researchers to believe that there is some interaction going on with the active ingredients of green tea that promotes increased metabolism and fat oxidation.

The researchers indicated that their findings have substantial implications for weight control. A 4% overall increase in 24-hour energy expenditure was attributed to the green tea extract, however, the research found that the extra expenditure took place during the daytime. This led them to conclude that, since thermogenesis (the body's own rate of burning calories) contributes 8-10% of daily energy expenditure in a typical cubject, that this 4% overall increase in energy expenditure due to the green tea actually translated to a 35-43% increase in daytime thermogenesis.

Dear Z-Labs

I ordered your Hoodia-Ex 3 weeks ago and I can honestly say that I am shocked. When I came across your Google ad I was very impressed how professional and informative your website was, but I was still quite skeptical about trying your hoodia since I had previously tried a 3 month supply of a very popular 750mg version with virtually no results. The only reason I was considering giving hoodia a second chance was that my mother and sister were using it (a different brand) and had lost 20lbs in 6 weeks between the two of them. So after feeling comfortable that your Hoodia-Ex was the real deal I went ahead and ordered one bottle. I received my order 3 business day’s later (thank you) and started right off taking two capsules in the morning and two before dinner. I didn't notice a whole lot the first day, but by day two I definitely noticed a decrease in my appetite and no unpleasant side effects. I must say that I became very excited and continued following the same regimen for the next two weeks without weighing myself. Finally 3 days ago I decided it was time to step on the scale and find out whether this was all in my head or had I actually lost weight. Well I'm not crazy, I had lost a little over 5lbs and I did nothing (no exercise etc.) different than before I started. Needless to say I am extremely happy with Hoodia-Ex and will be placing an order for 3 more bottles tomorrow. I have even convinced my mother and sister to switch since your hoodia is $20 less per bottle than what they had been taking. Thank you so much for such a great product. I'll update my review once I've lost the remaining 20lbs I need to get rid of.

Sincerely,

Karen Patterson
